UVAS holds International Technical Seminar on “Immunization and Disease Control in Livestock”

LAHORE (14-07-26): The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Huzaifa International Sargodha Pakistan arranged a daylong seminar on “International Technical Seminar on “Immunization and Disease Control in Livestock”” at City Campus Lahore.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the inaugural session of the seminar while Chief Executive Officer Vetal Animal Health Products S.A Turkiye Dr Abdullah Tutak, Renowned Microbiologist Prof Dr Mustafa Haksoz from Ankara University Turkiye, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Dr Israr Shah from Huzaifa International Sargodha Pakistan, Former Director General Livestock Department Punjab Dr Mansoor Ahmad, Prof Dr Muhammad Awais and a number of professionals, researchers/veterinary experts, faculty members and postgraduate students were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani welcomed international guest speaker came from Islamic brother country Turkiye. He said that the livestock sector in Pakistan faces many challenges related to animal health issues, livestock management, biosafety & biosecurity, rising temperatures and climate change. He said veterinarian plying key role to safe guarding animal health from different diseases by providing veterinary services to livestock farmers. He said small livestock farmers are not much aware with latest farming techniques and modern method of animal management. He said such seminar is necessary for learning innovative knowledge regarding disease control & management issues. He added that he hopes that the participants in the seminar will get an opportunity to learn modern knowledge from national and international experts.

The seminar provided detailed insights to participants regarding recent advances in livestock immunization, disease diagnosis and modern vaccine technologies.

Later Dr Abdullah Tutak delivered a lecture on modern vaccine technologies and global immunization strategies, Prof Dr Mustafa Haksoz gave a detailed presentation on advances in veterinary microbiology and vaccine development while Dr Mansoor Ahmad presented vote of thanks.

Earlier Dr Israr Shah spoke about introduction and objectives of seminar, Prof Dr Arfan Ahmad told about disease diagnosis, current challenges in livestock health and role of University Diagnostic Lab, Prof Dr Muhammad Awais spoke about livestock vaccination clinical challenges and practical approaches.
