Secretary Livestock Ahmad Aziz Tarar paid a visit to UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki & praise education & research facilities

LAHORE (10-07-26): The Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab (L&DD) Mr Ahmad Aziz Tarar along with officials paid a visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani on Friday.

Meanwhile Secretary Livestock chaired a meeting with UVAS Senior faculty members while Dean Faculty of Animal Production & Technology Prof Dr Saima, Principal Officer Ravi Campus Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Anjum and a number of faculty members and administrative officers were present.

Later Secretary Livestock along with Prof Dr Masood Rabbani visited various departments of Ravi Campus including different labs of Central Laboratory Complex (CLC), clinics, fish processing unit, museum and Training Center for Biologic Production (TCBP) and reviewed disease diagnostics, vaccine production and lab facilities for the treatment of livestock farming community animals as well as imparting practical knowledge to students. While visiting Ravi Campus A-Block, Secretary Livestock Ahmad Aziz planted a sapling in front of Akram Complex for the promotion of greenery.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Livestock appreciated the state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities available at the Ravi Campus and expressed his admiration for the UVAS academic and research achievements under the able leadership of Prof Rabbani. He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Livestock Department and UVAS in areas of mutual interest related to research, technology transfer, human resource development, disease surveillance, livestock productivity enhancement and extension services. Livestock Secretary Ahmed Aziz Tarar assured full cooperation for the further development of UVAS specifically to enhance disease diagnostic & treatment facilities for the treatment of livestock farming community animals and to ensure the success of the agro-livestock tourism project at Ravi Campus Pattoki.

Prof Dr Masood Rabbani welcomed Secretary Livestock to the Ravi campus and highlighted the vision, academic strengths, research initiatives and strategic importance of UVAS Ravi Campus in advancing livestock, veterinary education, fisheries, wildlife and agricultural development in Pakistan. He said UVAS actively working for the development of livestock sector and for the profitability of livestock farming community as well.

Prof Dr Saima delivered a comprehensive briefing on the academic faculties, departments, degree programs, research facilities and ongoing initiatives at Ravi Campus. She also highlighted UVAS contributions towards capacity building, innovation, research and community outreach in the livestock & allied sectors.

Director Admin & Coordination Lt Col (R) Hamayun Jamil Akhtar gave a detail presentation to participants of meeting on site selection which comprised of (theme park slide/swings, dhaba for traditional food, fast food outlet, camel cart horse riding, traditional handicrafts, fish catching, boating, kitchen gardening, milking, club car & ornamental plant nursery) for Agri-Livestock Tourism at Ravi Campus Pattoki.
