LAHORE (18-08-26): A delegation comprised of 24 officials led by Director Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha (NGO) Bangladesh (GJUS) Mr Zakir Hussain Mohsin for leadership management training of GJUS staff for their capacity building visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani.
Meanwhile a meeting was held in UVAS with delegation and Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the meeting while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Dean Faculty of Bio-sciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman and a number of UVAS senior faculty members were present in the meeting.
They discussed regarding leadership management training of GJUS staff for their capacity building, promotion of education & research linkages, cultural and social understanding between students/professionals of both countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani welcome them in 144 years historic institution UVAS and he showed university video documentary to give an overview of UVAS research, development interventions, student strength and collaboration with national and international institutions etc. He also told the delegation that Government of Punjab providing loans to small livestock farmers on livestock card and taken many initiatives for the benefit of livestock farming community especially to empower rural areas woman those are actively working in poultry and livestock farming. He said UVAS mainly focusing on the development of livestock, poultry, meat and dairy sectors in Punjab and its door always open for the assistance of professional. He said collaboration between UVAS and GJUS would also be beneficial for both parties and it will provide maximum opportunities of learning innovative knowledge and each-other experiences.
