LAHORE (03-11-25): Institute of Microbiology (IOM) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged a walk to observe “World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week” with the theme of “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future” here at City Campus Lahore.
Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) led the walk while Emeritus Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Prof Dr Abdul Ahad from Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Bangladesh, Director (IOM) Prof Dr Amir Ghafoor Bajwa and a number of faculty members & students participated. The walk started from the Vice-Chancellor Office and culminated in-front of UVAS Main Lawn after taking a round of City Campus. Later Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani signed on the AMR Pledge Wall. The aim of the day was to create awareness among public regarding understanding of antimicrobial resistance & increase understanding of AMR and to promote global action to tackle the emergence and spread of drug-resistant pathogens. Similar activities also held in other campuses of UVAS.
