LAHORE (17-04-25): Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore inaugurated newly established Avian Research Training Centre (ART) at Ravi Campus Pattoki with the purpose of advancing scientific knowledge, future research activities and development in the field of poultry science.
Later, Vice-Chancellor along with other dignitaries inaugurated wheat harvest drive emphasizing the importance of agriculture to enhance food production in the harvest season for the community and in connection with Punjab Culture Day they wore turbans showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Punjab.
Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Dean Faculty of Animal Production & Technology Prof Dr Saima, Registrar Sajjad Hyder, Principal Officer Ravi Campus Prof Dr Arshad Javid and number of faculty members & administration officers were present in the ceremonies.
Meanwhile, a Turkish delegation comprised of Chief Executive Officer QZU Teknoloji Mr Mustafa Kuzu, Technical Advisor Mr Yasin Kaygin, Senior Dairy Consultant Dr Massroor Tipu, Dairy Consultant Mr Talha and Visit Coordinator Dr Muhammad Suleman visited UVAS Ravi Campus with a special focus on the UVAS Dairy Plant (cakes and bakes) and Dairy Farm. The visit was aimed to explore ongoing initiatives at UVAS dairy facilities and discuss potential avenues for future collaboration in dairy technology and innovation. A meeting of the Turkish delegation was also held with Chairman Department of Livestock Management to discuss potential solutions for hygiene and sanitation of milk chilling tank in preparation for the upcoming harsh weather conditions.
