LAHORE (27-10-25): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore under the supervision of Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) and Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani sent flood relief goods to the help of flood affected families in the different areas of Punjab including Qasoor, Muzaffar Garh (Seetpur & Alipur), Jhang and Narowal (Shakar Garh & Zafar Waal).
While addressing the flood relief goods distribution ceremony, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus said that livestock is the only source of livelihood for the population of rural areas and this year due to destruction by heavy floods the livestock farming community is facing economic losses. He thanked all the donors who showed trust in UVAS.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani said UVAS has always strived to ensure that donors` aid reaches as many beneficiaries as possible in a transparent manner and this year the university helping maximum flood-affected deserving families.
UVAS each Flood Relief Volunteer Teams comprises of two faculty members, eight students, one driver, one attendant and one security guard will send from the sub-campuses of the UVAS including Ravi Campus Pattoki, College of Veterinary Animal Sciences Jhang, Khan Bahadur Chauhdary Mushtaq Ahmad College of Veterinary Animal Sciences Narowal and Para Veterinary Institute Karora Lal Eason Layyah. These teams would provide relief items related to ration bag (hygienic food), clothes and medicines/vaccine as well as veterinary services to flood affected families and save their sick animals from different diseases. A number of representatives from different campuses of UVAS and UVAS Flood Relief Management Teams members were present on the occasion.
