UVAS organized seminar on the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA)

LAHORE (27-06-25): The Qirat and Naat Society of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged a seminar on the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) observed on the 1st of Muharram at City Campus. In which students performed recitation of holy quran, naat khawani and manqabat.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the seminar while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Senior Tutor Prof Dr Yasin Tipu, Convener Qirat and Naat Society Dr Muhammad Sarwar Siddique, Dr Muhammad Asad Ali and number of students and faculty members were present.

While addressing the seminar, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus spoke about the greatness of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) and his love for the beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), saying that he was the closest companion of the Holy Prophet and the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) used to say about him that “if there was a prophet after me, it would be Umar”. Prof Dr Muhammad Younus gave a detailed lecture to the students on the topic of Hazrat Umar Farooq’s courage, bravery, heroism, understanding and insight, sacrifice, honesty and as the second Caliph the Islamic state founded on the golden principles of justice, fairness and equality and his victories in various wars. He also told the participants in detail about the money and sacrifices made for the advancement of Islam..

68th Meeting of ASRB held at UVAS

Meanwhile the Directorate advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged 68th meeting at UVAS City Campus.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the meeting while Deans, Director, Chairpersons and faculty members from different departments were present. In which various agenda items were discussed related to initiation of new M Phil degree programe in avian nutrition and feed technology in the department of animal nutrition and discussed of 24 PhD synopsis and change of supervisory committee of postgraduate students.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus emphasis on the importance of postgraduate research in the uplifting of veterinary profession, encourage innovative research and addressing current challenges in the field.
