LAHORE (12-12-25): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged concluding ceremony for the nineteen interns Doctor of Veterinary Science came from Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Bangladesh for the enhancing of practical experience & knowledge related to Veterinary Science in connection with externship programme.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the concluding ceremony while Vice-Chancellor Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Bangladesh Prof Dr Lutf-ur-Rehman was the Guest of Honour.
Director Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (CVASU) Prof Dr Abdul Ahad and Director External Linkages Prof Dr Saif-ud-Din, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Focal Person Internship Programe Prof Dr Arfan Ahmad and UVAS senior faculty members & students were present in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, UVAS Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding with CVASU Bangladesh for academic, educational, research and professional collaboration to promote cooperation in strengthen academic capacity, cultural exchange, enhance productivity & collaborative innovation, academic programme enhancement, training and internship opportunities, expend international linkages and enhance institutional development through joint effort.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus said that the doors of the UVAS are always open to showcase the professional and practical skills enhancement of students and faculty members of Chittagong Veterinary University and we welcome those coming from our Muslim brotherly country, Bangladesh. He also congratulated the students who successfully completed their externship. He also said that we will take more practical steps in the future to promote further collaboration between the UVAS & CVASU educational institutions.
Prof Dr Lutf-ur-Rehman said that in the near future we will work together on more externship programs, exchange of researchers and research projects to build further relations with theUVAS Lahore. He said experts from both institutions will share their experiences with each other so that the problems and challenges facing the livestock sectors can be overcome. He said this partnership will directly beneficial for livestock farmers which will not only increase the production of their animals but will also significantly increase their income. He also thanked the leadership, administration and experts of the UVAS Lahore for highlighting the professional skills of the Bangladeshi students and successfully completing the externship program.
Prof Dr Ahad said that during the internship the Bangladeshi students got the best opportunity to learn as much theory and professional practical training as possible from the experts of the UVAS, which will be very useful in their practical life. He said that Bangladeshi students were provided with all the necessary facilities and a conducive environment to learn modern knowledge and skills during their internship stay by UVAS. He also said that the UVAS Lahore has organized tours of dairy farms, poultry industry, others campuses of UVAS for Bangladeshi students. Along with extracurricular activities and sports, tours to historical sites were also organized and the students had the opportunity to showcase their academic and professional skills as well as learn about Pakistani culture he added. Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani presented the vote of thanks and said UVAS always welcome the students and faculty members came from Bangladesh. Dr Arfan Ahmad spoke about the aim and objectives of the internship. He mentioned that internship comprised of forty five days and UVAS experts imparted theoretical & practical training to CVASU students regarding clinical examination, patient history collection & physical exam, organs surgeries, ultrasonography & radiography techniques, disease diagnostic testing, patient care & anesthesia, common surgical abnormalities, equine lameness & shoeing, orthopedic surgery & advanced techniques, animal reproductive techniques and parasitology knowledge related to veterinary science.
