LAHORE (13-11-23): Chinese delegation led by Chairman Qingdao Zhongren Aolan Biological Engineering Company Mr Zhang Shuren along with Deputy General Manger Qingdao Zhongren Animal Medicine Company Mr Li Hua and Dean Department of Qingdao Agriculture University Mr Liu Fuxiao visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore.
A meeting arranged under Pakistan–China joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry to collaborate in poultry & livestock vaccine production. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI) chaired meeting while UVAS senior faculty members and number of stakeholders from public & private veterinary pharmaceutical industries were present.
They discussed the mutual areas of collaboration to promote linkages for technology transfer regarding vaccine production to address poultry & livestock diseases related issues. The meeting participants also recommended HS code 2309:9000 free trade agreement, Chinese pharmacopeia acknowledged by Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan and homologous vaccine to increase production of local vaccine to meet demand of local farming community.
Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed said that there are ample opportunities available in China–Pakistan Economic Corridor for enhancing trade between both countries regarding dairy products and meat export. He said this collaboration would be very beneficial for livestock farming community to save their animals from deadly disease of livestock. Mr Zhang Shuren spoke about the areas of collaboration especially in poultry medicine, vaccine, husbandry industry and chicken breeding plant and he showed keen interest to strengthen linkages for technology transfer for enhancing of vaccine production.
