LAHORE (08-11-24): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Brook Pakistan arranged the launching ceremony of a book titled “Essential Veterinary Medicine List (EVML) of different species wise animals of food producing animals.”
Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) and Chief Executive Officer Brook Hospital UK Mr Chris Wainwright co-chaired the launching ceremony while Acting Chief Executive Officer Brooke Pakistan Dr Javed Iqbal Gondal, Animal Healthcare Manager Brook Pakistan Dr Muhammad Jawaid Khan, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani and many faculty members from different veterinary institutions and UVAS sub campuses & students were present physically and virtually.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus appreciated the initiative taken for the better healthcare and welfare of food producing animals (equines). He said UVAS is always willing to support such initiatives for the development of livestock sector. He said UVAS is a historic institution of Pakistan providing best veterinary services to save livestock farmer’s animals from different diseases.
Mr Chris Wainwright lauded UVAS best clinical and disease diagnostics services and said this collaboration between UVAS and Brook Pakistan will be very beneficial especially for food producing animals and to improve health care system in Pakistan.
Earlier Dr Muhammad Jawaid Khan gave a presentation regarding the objectives of the book. He said this list is a valuable tool in reducing the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance and adhering to World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) recommendations on prudent antimicrobial use.
