LAHORE (22-10-24): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in collaboration with Higher Education Commission Islamabad (HEC) arranged All Pakistan Inter-varsity Taekwondo Women Championship here in UVAS City Campus Sports Complex.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani inaugurated Taekwondo (Women) Championship while UVAS Chairman Sports Board Prof Dr Muhammad Ijaz presided over the concluding ceremony and distributed trophies among winners of contest and Vice-Chancellor Lahore Garrison University Maj General (retired) Khalil Dar was the Guest of Honour. Director Sports Rana Amjad Iqbal and a large number of faculty members, students and players from 17 universities of Pakistan were present.
According to the competition results, the Lahore Garrison University won first position, Punjab University (PU) Lahore 2nd position while University of Lahore stood on 3rd position.
Meanwhile, UVAS team performed marvelously and its student Zil-e-Norain secured bronze medal in 2nd Interdepartmental National Karate Championship & won 02 Bronze Medals in Intervarsity Taekwondo Championship.
