UVAS arranges Donors Conference under UVAS Flood Relief & Assistance Campaign 2025

LAHORE (07-10-25): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged Donor Conference under UVAS Flood Relief & Assistance Campaign 2025 here at City Campus Lahore on Tuesday.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the conference while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Focal Person NDMA from UVAS Prof Dr Muhammad Ijaz, Convener Flood Relief Management Committee Dr Muhammad Asad Ali and a number of donors/representatives from dairy, poultry, food and pharmaceutical industries, UVAS Alumni, UVAS Flood Relief Management Committees members and faculty members from different departments were present.

While addressing the conference, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus said that UVAS arranged donor conference and got maximum response in terms of fund raising from donors which shows their trust on UVAS and is really appreciable. He thanked all the donors and appealed to stakeholders, students and faculty members to join hands with UVAS and donate more and more funds and contributes for noble cause to save lives and help Pakistanis who are badly affected due to the heavy floods 2025. At the end of Donors Conference Prof Dr Muhammad Younus received cash cheques from different donors from public and private organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani said UVAS has always strived to ensure that donors` aid reaches as many beneficiaries as possible in a transparent manner and this year the university intends to help 1,200 flood-affected families and appeals to donors for maximum cooperation to achieve this noble cause. She said that such relief activities will prove to be very beneficial for the students in providing veterinary services in emergency situations in the future and enhancing in them professional skills related to the field.

Dr Muhammad Asad Ali said that each UVAS Flood Relief Volunteer Teams will be comprised of two faculty members, eight students, one driver, one attendant and one security guard send from the sub-campuses of the UVAS and these teams would provide relief items, vaccine, medicines & animal nutrition, food items (ration), cloth, blankets and veterinary services in the worst flood-affected areas of Punjab including Qasoor, Muzaffar Garh (Seetpur & Alipur),  Jhang and Narowal (Shakar Garh & Zafar Waal) while relief supplies would be provided from the city campus. He also mentioned that UVAS in collaboration with Rescue 1122 various practical demonstration sessions also arranged in the all campus of UVAS to create awareness among UVAS Flood Relief Volunteer Teams that how to perform relief activities in the worst flood affected areas.

Prof Dr Muhammad Ijaz told the audience that the UVAS has always provided assistance to its Pakistanis in the form of cash and goods during natural disasters in the past, especially the 2005 earthquake and the floods of 2010, 2014 and 2022 and has also actively participated in the implementation of noble causes. This year UVAS too committed to providing assistance to the flood affected people as always.
