UVAS arranged awareness walk, seminar & blood camp to mark World Thalassaemia day

LAHORE (08-05-24): The Blood Donor Society of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged walk, seminar & blood camp to mark world Thalassemia day to create awareness among public regarding the deadly disease with the theme of “Empowering Lives, Embracing Progress” and aim of making the country thalassemia free.

Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani led the walk, starting from Vice-Chancellor office and culminating in front of UVAS main lawn while Dr Muhammad Asif Ali a large number of faculty members and students participated. Dr Haseeb Ahmad from Noor Thalassemia Foundation and Dr Sajid from Faizan Global Relief Fund were the resource persons.

Later UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the seminar. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Younus lauded the role of UVAS Blood Donor Society actively working as a volunteer for noble cause to create awareness among public regarding thalassemia disease. At the end of seminar, Vice-Chancellor presented shields & certificates among the resource persons.
