LAHORE (13-01-25): Provincial Minister Higher Education Punjab Mr Rana Sikandar Hayat along with Former Member National Assembly Mr Muhammad Hayat Ahmad Khan and Member Provincial Assembly Mr Mehmood Anwar paid a visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki called on Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I).
Rana Sikandar Hayat visited various sections of Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Educational Complex including library and Auditorium. While visiting A-Block, Rana Sikandar Hayat planted a sapling in front of Akram Complex for the promotion of greenery at Ravi Campus while Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Younus, Dean Faculty of Animal Production & Technology Prof Dr Saima, Principle Officer Ravi Campus Prof Dr Arshad Javid and number of faculty members and Adminstrative Officer were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the audience in Akram Complex, Minister Higher Education Punjab Rana Sikandar Hayat appreciated progress of UVAS through its quality of education and research in the country. Minister said in near future he would manage E-buses for Ravi Campus students and would also provide better medical facilities by managing staff and facilities at Ravi Campus university hospital, he added. He also ensured his full support and cooperation for the uplift of UVAS University and lauded Vice- Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Younus leadership for providing quality education to students and services to communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus listed achievements of UVAS in curricular and extra-curricular sports activities and mentioned initiation of new undergraduate degree programs started in Ravi Campus. He also mentioned steps recently taken for the welfare of farming communities including fee reduction up to 50 % for the students in all the undergraduate degree programs at Ravi Campus. He said for the betterment of livestock farming community UVAS restart ambulatory services to providing veterinary services at their door steps for the treatment of livestock farmer animals and fee reduction for farmers & provision of Foot & Mouth Disease vaccine to save their animals from deadly disease. He said UVAS always working for the development of livestock sector and its facilities like Training Center for Biologic Production would play a vital role to save livestock sector from deadly diseases.
