Director French Cultural Center Lahore Fabrice Disdier visits UVAS to strengthen collaboration

LAHORE (18-05-26): The Director French Cultural Center Lahore Mr Fabrice Disdier paid a visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani at City Campus.

Meanwhile a meeting was held with the Director Mr Fabrice and Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the meeting while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Muhammad Imran Rashid, Prof Dr Haroon Akbar, Prof Dr Wasim Shehzad, Dr Naveed ul Haq, Dr Muhammad Oneeb and a few faculty members were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani spoke about historic importance of UVAS and he shared UVAS has strong linkages with France an many of university faculty members got Phd`s degrees from different institutes of France. He expressed that UVAS want to build a scientific collaboration with French education institutions for higher studies of UVAS students in France and explore research opportunities in one health and climate change there as well. He said poultry sector in Pakistan is rapidly flourishing in Pakistan and vaccines for poultry also import from France to curb different disease. He said UVAS always willing to collaborate with France.

Mr Fabrice Disdier appreciated UVAS actively worked for the promotion of French language and conducted languages courses in university in the good manner and Prof Dr Muhammad Imran Rashid contributed his excellent role for successfully conducted French Courses & motivated students for this purpose. He assured that he will also play a vital role in establishing collaboration between UVAS and French institutions. He mentioned poultry is also vibrant sector in France and cheap source of getting protein.

Earlier, Prof Dr Muhammad Imran Rashid gave a detailed presentation to Mr Fabrice Disdier regarding activities held at UVAS and Alliance Française (AF) Lahore. He spoke about the history of collaboration with AF Lahore and UVAS started in 2018 after signed memorandum of understanding, students participated in different cultural activities, Francophonie competitions and French languages levels A1, A2 and B1 courses in UVAS sub-center. He said AF also established office of Campus France at French Cultural Center to guide the students about how to apply for visa and consultation for the higher studies in France institutions for their bright future.
