LAHORE (14-05-24): Chairman Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan Mr Farukh Amil along with Assistant Controller of Patents Ms Shakra Khurshid visited the University of Veterinary & Animal Science (UVAS) Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) while Emeritus Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (Sitar-i-Imtiaz), Director Training Center for Biologics Production Prof Dr Amir Ghafoor Bajwa and Director Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization Dr Ferhan Jamil were present on the occasion.
Mr Farukh Amil urged the necessity of educating and guiding young students and researchers in matters of innovation and the utilization of the intellectual property system. He said UVAS and IPO Pakistan working together is a step forward in promoting intellectual property awareness and education to empowering students, researchers and innovators to harness the power of intellectual property for the betterment of society. He acknowledged the role of UVAS especially its quality of education & innovative research work by faculty members for the benefit of community under the dynamic leadership of Prof Dr Muhammad Younus. He said IPO Pakistan always willing for the facilitation of UVAS in attaining the IP rights & patent filing and guidance of applicants/researchers etc.
Veterinary University holds All Pakistan UVAS Debates Open Edition (II) competition
Earlier Debating Society of the University of Veterinary & Animal Science (UVAS) Lahore arranged a three days All Pakistan UVAS Debates Open Edition (II) at the City Campus.
Seventy four teams from different institutes of all over the country participated in the debate competition. Government College University Lahore, King Edward Medical University and Ameer-u-Din Medical College were among the winners of the competition.
Prof Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi presided over the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest and distributed trophies among the winner of contests and lauded their efforts while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Registrar Sajjad Hyder, Dr Jaweria Ali Khan, Dr Maryam Javed, Dr Rahat Naseer, Dr Asad Ali and number of faculty members and students attended the ceremony.
