World Environment Day observed at UVAS

LAHORE (03-06-2025): The Department of Environmental Sciences, Society for Conservation of Environment and Nature (SCEN) and Green Youth Movement (GYM) club and Senior Tutor Office of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore observed the World Environment Day with the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution” on Tuesday.

An awareness walk and a seminar arranged to mark the day to create awareness among public to protect and improve the environment. Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani led the walk while Senior Tutor Prof Dr Yasin Tipu, Chairman Department of Environmental Sciences Dr Saif Ur Rehman Kashif, Member Prime Minister Green Youth Movement at Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore Ms Iqra Mahmood Malik, Dr Fariha Arooj and number of faculty member and students participated in walk.

Later Dr Saif Ur Rehman delivered an informative lecture to students on solar energy a great blessing, using solar energy for home users its practical issues and solutions and he also spoke about various aspects of environment while Ms Iqra Mahmood Malik talked about on plastic waste management.

 

UVAS inaugurate treatment camp for sacrificial animals

Meanwhile, UVAS Department of Veterinary medicine arranged Inauguration ceremony of 5th free treatment camp (2nd June to 8th June 2025) in collaboration with different pharmaceutical companies at outdoor hospital city campus Lahore.

Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani inaugurated the camp while Chairman Department of Veterinary Medicine Prof Dr Muhammad Ijaz, Incharge Outdoor Hospital & chief organizer Dr Jawaria Ali khan and number of faculty members, students and representatives from pharmaceutical companies were present on the occasion.
