2-week long Clinical Competency Enhancement Programe concludes at UVAS

LAHORE (25-09-25): The Department of Veterinary Surgery in collaboration with Department of Small Animal Clinical Science and Department of Pathology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged a concluding ceremony of two weeks Clinical Competency Enhancement Programe (phase-1) focus on enhancing clinical skills in anesthesia, small animal medicine, necropsy and surgery at National Academy for Veterinary Clinical Competency UVAS City Campus Lahore.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the concluding ceremony of the Clinical Competency Enhancement Programe and distributed certificate among participants & resource persons while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Chairman Department of Pathology Prof Dr Yasin Tipu, Chairperson Department of Surgery Dr Ayesha Hassan, Dr Zia Ullah Mughal and few faculty members and participants were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus said that such training programe are very necessary to enhancing practical competency for veterinary professionals especially for their capacity building. Earlier Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani shared the aims and objectives of Clinical Competency Enhancement Programe for veterinary professionals & postgraduate trainees to enhance hands-on skills and clinical judgment.

During Clinical Competency Enhancement Programe experts were delivered theoretical lectures & practical demonstration to the participants on anesthesia dose calculation, appropriate anesthesia drug protocols & plan and use of anesthesia equipment & accessories, post-operative pain management, patient preparation for surgery, instrument sterilization, physical examination, diagnosis tests, treatment protocols, clinical case & procedures, necropsy techniques, hands on practice, external examination & common challenges, pathological changes for normal postmortem, organ examination and techniques for histopathological examination etc.
