Shagufta Saeed

Biography

Dr. Shagufta Saeed is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (IBBt), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from UVAS. Her research interests focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), nanobiotechnology, antidiabetic potential of local herbs and production of biopolymers by fermentation. She has successfully supervised numerous M.Phil. students and PhD scholars and is HEC-approved supervisor. She has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals and is author of various book chapters.

Research Project:

Bioconversion of agricultural by-products to polyhydroxybutyrate by Azotobacter vinelandii using submerged fermentation. Research grant of 0.5 million under Start-up Research Grant Program of HEC.
