Biography
Dr. Muhammad Umar Javed has been working as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine since October 2022. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, in 2019. He completed his MPhil in Clinical Medicine in 2021. During his MPhil, he has worked as a Research Associate in a PARC-funded project focused on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections in bovine and humans. Recently in 2025, he completed his PhD in Clinical Medicine. His research area focused on infectious diseases in livestock, particularly on antimicrobial resistance and mastitis in livestock animals. He has published 23 research articles in high-impact factor, peer-reviewed international and national journals and has presented his research work at numerous international conferences. He has also authored one book chapter, 13 abstracts, and one extension article. In addition to his research, he is involved in teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and hands-on approaches to teaching, inspiring both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Moreover, he is also handling different clinical cases at UVAS Outdoor Hospital and involved in UVAS-24/7 extension services as well.
