Biography

Dr. Sohail Ahmad is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Poultry Production, Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan, since January 17, 2022.

He earned his BS (Hons.) in Poultry Science in 2012 from UVAS, followed by an M.Phil. (2014) and a Ph.D. (2019) in Poultry Production from the same department. His doctoral research focused on backyard poultry breeding and production, with a particular emphasis on evaluating the performance of Rhode Island Red, Black Australorp, and Naked Neck crossbreds under free-range, semi-intensive, and intensive housing systems.

Dr. Ahmad has over 12 years of teaching and research experience, including more than six and a half years as a Lecturer and nearly one year as a Teaching Assistant at UVAS. He also served as a Research Associate in the project “Development of Meat-Type Japanese Quail Acclimatized to Indigenous Managemental Conditions through Six Generations of Selective Breeding” at the Avian Research and Training Centre, where he contributed for two years.
