Biography

I, Dr. Muhammad Junaid, working as Lecturer in the Department of Dairy Technology at the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology UVAS. I have held this position since Feb 2011, contributing my expertise to Dairy Technology. My academic background includes DVM, M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Dairy Technology, which have equipped me with comprehensive knowledge and skills. I completed my Master's and Doctorate degree alongside my lectureship in same institute where I delved into the realm of Dairy Product Development. Before my tenure as a lecturer, I held the position of Dairy Trainer (Feb 2008 to Jan 2011) in the HEC funded project, "Dairy Training and Development Center" at UVAS, Lahore. During this period, my responsibilities encompassed teaching, organizing short-term training programs, managing dairy plant operations, and spearheading research, innovation, and product development initiatives. With over 15 years of postgraduate research in dairy processing and undergraduate & postgraduate teaching experience, I have become well-versed in various aspects of Dairy Value Chain. I have also completed two Research Projects as Co-Principal Investigator and led two Development projects as Project Coordinator (Camel Milk Value Chain) and Project Director (Capacity Building on Milk Value Chain). My research contributions have been widely recognized, with 14 national and international publications. To further enhance my expertise, I pursued foreign training in Netherlands, Australia, Thailand, USA, Japan and Sri Lanka. I had the privilege of presenting two research papers as an oral presenter at international conferences held in Thailand and Malaysia. Moreover, I have proactively pursued professional development opportunities, like “Professional Competency Enhancement Program for Teachers” (PCEPT) and a seven-day “Workshop on Biostatistics and Data Analysis”. In addition, I proudly contributed my services as the Focal Person for the Advance Studies and Research Board (ASRB) and the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), as well as the Nestle Scholarship Committee. Besides academia, my dedication extends into the realm of volunteerism, where I actively pay my time and efforts. I demonstrated my commitment to excellence by actively participating in various management committees at UVAS. My dedication is exemplified by my progression from the position of Associate Senior Tutor (2015-20) to Senior Tutor (2020 onwards), where I offer my unwavering services. In addition to these significant engagements, I maintained valuable affiliations with Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Government of Punjab, where I am serving as a member of the Livestock Advisory Committee. Furthermore, I am contributing my expertise as a member of the scientific panel for Punjab Food Authority (2017 onwards). Sharing my volunteer services to society, I hold an elected position of Executive Member (2014-16) within the Australia Awards Alumni, operating under Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia, twice elected as Treasurer (2018-19) and Finance Secretary (2021-23) in Academic Staff Association UVAS.
