Biography
Dr. Hussain is working as an Associate Professor (Tenured) and Chairman at the Department of Poultry Production, UVAS Lahore with more than seventeen (17) years of the experience in teaching and collaborative research in the Poultry industry of Pakistan. After completing PhD in Poultry Production, Dr. Hussain joined JSU-MS USA for fellowship in advanced Biostatistics. For further specialization in veterinary education, Dr. Hussain completed one year PG Certificate from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London UK. Dr. Hussain has presented research findings in Pakistan, UAE, KSA, France, Thailand and USA. Pakistan Poultry Association declared Dr. Hussain as the best researcher and presenter for the year 2019. Dr. Hussain was also selected for the young scientist awards by World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA), French Branch in 2020 and was also awarded the prestigious Gold Medal by WPSA-Pakistan Branch in 2023. Dr. Hussain has published more than 100 impact factor research papers pertaining to the various aspects of Poultry Production. A review article published by Dr. Hussain “An overview of Poultry Industry in Pakistan” in World’s Poultry Science Journal (WPSJ) is the distinguished one in the sense that it has more than forty five thousand (45000) reads from all across the globe. Dr. Hussain has published three (03) books. In September 2023, PPA awarded prestigious certificate of excellence along with a laptop to Dr. Hussain for exceptional services in overall arrangements and organization of Interactive session at International Poultry Expo (IPEX-2023). In December 2023 the honourable Governor Punjab/Chancellor UVAS decorated Dr. Jibran with the Best Researcher of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore award.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Dr. Jibran started his professional career as Manager Broiler Breeding Farms of a nationally renowned Poultry Breeding Company (Sabirs’ Poultry) and then in 2008 shifted to the Teaching and Research line at the Department of Poultry Production, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He has served as a full-time lecturer in the same department. He also worked as lecturer cum farm officer at Avian Research and Training Centre, having vast experience of Quail breeding, incubation, rearing, meat processing, value addition and marketing. He is a very active member of the team working at Indigenous Chicken Genetic Resource Centre (ICGRC). This team is working on indigenous Aseel, Naked Neck and Golden (RIR) chickens. He has also performed the additional duties of Associate Director Students Affairs Ravi campus, UVAS, Lahore as well as Departmental focal person for Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), UVAS Lahore. He is also a very active member of various sports and disciplinary affairs related committees at Ravi Campus.
