Biography

Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dairy Technology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, bringing over 15 years of rich academic background in teaching and collaborative research, complemented by more than six years of professional experience in Pakistan’s dairy industry. He earned his PhD in Dairy Technology, specializing in enhancing probiotic survival through natural polyphenols as prebiotics. His pioneering research in dairy technology has led to multidisciplinary exploration in various R&D domains like prebiotic applications, probiotics, functional dairy products, dairy waste valorization, nutraceutical applications, and product formulation. He has authored over 30 international publications with a citation impact exceeding 750, featured in high-impact journals that underscore his global scholarly recognition.

Before his academic career, Dr. Ahmad held senior technical roles in leading dairy industries of Pakistan, where he gained hands-on experience with fluid milk, milk powder, fermented dairy products, HACCP/ISO implementation, and dairy plant commissioning. This blend of industrial and academic expertise positions him as a vital link between research and practice in Pakistan’s dairy sector. Currently, he actively contributes to curriculum development, postgraduate supervision, quality assurance compliance, and capacity building for farmers and dairy stakeholders. He manages pilot-scale milk processing facilities and has been instrumental in establishing milk processing lines, training centers, and central laboratories, significantly enhancing applied dairy education and extension services. In addition, Dr. Ahmad serves as a reviewer and academic editor for various international journals and provides technical consultancy in dairy plant operations.
