Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
(UVAS Lahore, Harvard Medical School, USA)
Biography
Dr. Ihsan Ullah is a molecular biologist and biotechnology expert specializing in genetic
research, molecular diagnostics, and nephrology-related monogenic diseases. He earned his
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology from UVAS, focusing on the molecular
characterization of genetic determinants influencing ionic homeostasis. With research experience
at Harvard Medical School, he has contributed significantly to understanding Nephrolithiasis
genetic diseases. Currently a Visiting Faculty Member at UVAS and a Senior Researcher at
Mawra Scientific, he has played a key role in developing molecular diagnostic assays and avian
genetics research. He was instrumental in COVID-19 diagnostics, establishing a BSL-3 lab at the
Institute of Microbiology, UVAS. His work is published in leading journals, including Genetics
in Medicine and Science Advances, and he actively mentors students while serving as a reviewer
for BMC Genomics. His expertise spans molecular biology, CRISPR gene editing,
bioinformatics, and next-generation sequencing, strongly focusing on genetic disease research
and diagnostics.
