Biography
Dr. Aysha Iftikhar is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan. She earned her B.S. (Hons.) and M.S. degrees in Environmental Sciences from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, securing first position and receiving Gold Medals in both programs. During her M.S. studies, she was awarded the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Exchange Scholarship, through which she conducted her thesis research on methanotrophs in thermokarst ponds at the Department of Ecology and Genetics, Uppsala University, Sweden. She subsequently received the highly competitive Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship to pursue her Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), USA, where her research focused on sustainable wastewater treatment and nutrient recovery through struvite production.
