Biography
Dr. Arslan Ahmed is a Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore. He holds DVM, MPhil, and PhD degrees in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Ahmed distinguished himself academically by graduating with a third position in his DVM batch (2013-2018). He was awarded the prestigious Mevlana Exchange Program Scholarship, which enabled him to complete his final internship at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University in Turkey. For his MPhil studies, he received a Silver Medal from the Governor of Punjab and was nominated for a Merit Scholarship during both his DVM and MPhil studies. Additionally, he was awarded the HEC Indigenous Scholarship for his PhD studies and received the International Research Support Initiative Program Fellowship Award from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
In his professional career, Dr. Ahmed has published over 20 research articles in national and international journals, achieving an impact factor exceeding 35 and garnering over 200 citations. He has also authored one book, a book chapter, 14 abstracts, and three extension articles. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, bovine mastitis, and tick-borne diseases in domestic animals. Dr. Ahmed is a Registered Veterinary Medical Practitioner (RVMP) with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council and is actively involved in teaching, clinical work, and research within the department.
