UVAS inks MoU with Chittagong Veterinary University Bangladesh to promote research & enhancing professional skills through internship of DVM students

LAHORE (20-02-25): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding with Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University Chattogram-Bangladesh (CVASU) to promote research activities & enhancing professional skills through internship of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) and Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani from UVAS while Vice-Chancellor/Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine CVASU Prof Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rehman signed the MoU in the virtually ceremony held at UVAS City Campus. Director Institute of Microbiology Prof Dr Aftab Ahmad Anjum, Prof Dr Arfan Ahmad and few faculty members were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus said that UVAS door always open for imparting innovative knowledge & hands-on practical training to enhancing professional skills in DVM students to train them for the treatment of sick animals. He said UVAS warmly welcome students from Muslim brother country Bangladesh in UVAS for internship.

Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani said that this agreement would be beneficial for both institutions especially for the professional development of DVM students to learn about hands-on practical training and professional experiences. Earlier she gave detailed presentation on UVAS Faculty of veterinary science, its departments, colleges, institutions, commercial services, ongoing projects, industry linkages and internship schedule etc.

Prof Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rehman lauded UVAS lab facilities and hoped that CVASU students will gain maximum knowledge and experiences from UVAS experts through internship and students faculty exchange programme.

Under the MoU, both institutions will exchange of research materials, publication, academic information and they will work on joint research programme and academics conferences. Both universities will exchange their students, faculty members and administrative staff for research and professional development. They will collaborate in curriculum development, joint degree programme and certification programs. UVAS will provide facilitation of a one month internship for CVASU students, providing practical training and exposure to advanced veterinary practices and CVASU- Bangladesh will also giving such facilities to UVAS students.
