UVAS holds awareness seminar on “Workplace Harassment”

LAHORE (03-05-24): The Character Building Society (CBS) and UVAS Women Harassment Committee of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore jointly arranged a seminar on “Workplace Harassment” with the theme “The Law Every Professional Should Know” to raise awareness about the crucial and emerging issue.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Dean Faculty of Bioscience Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and Prof Dr Imtiaz Rabbani attended seminar. A number of faculty members and staff members were also present in the seminar.

Barrister Ms Nudrat Bayan Majeed was the guest speaker and she spoke about the rights and duties of professionals, discussed law and acts regarding the harassment cases and instructions with UVAS faculty and staff. Prof Dr Muhammad Younis and Dr Aneela Durani also shared their views and remarks with the audience.

The objective of this event was to raise voice and awareness about the importance of creating a harassment-free work environment, discussion about harassment cases and act laws, learn strategies for prevention, response and law systems. At the end of seminar Prof Dr Muhammad Younis presented a shield to guest speaker.

UVAS arranged a seminar on “Empowering Female Students and Staff”

Later another seminar on “Empowering Female Students and Staff” arranged at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore in City Campus.

Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani led the inaugural session of seminar while Dr Gulbeena Saleem and a number of faculty members and students were present. Ms Nabeela Yaqoob from CIRCLE was the guest speaker and she delivered an informative lecture to the participants of UVAS. The aim of the seminar was to enhance entrepreneurial skills in female students and staff to empower them. At the end of seminar UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presented a shield to guest speaker.
