UVAS celebrates 76th Independence Day of Pakistan in befitting manner

LAHORE (14-08-23): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore celebrated the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting manner here on Monday.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies, Quran Khawani, prayers for the martyrs of Pakistan and cake cutting ceremony featured the day at all UVAS campuses.

The day began with Quran Khawani and special prayers in the university mosque for the martyrs and for the progress & prosperity of the country and university. Later a flag-hoisting ceremony was arranged at City Campus. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed hoisted the national flag while faculty members, students, administrative staff and their families attended in a large numbers.

Addressing the audience, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed congratulated the university employees and students on celebrating 76th Independence Day of Pakistan. He said Pakistan is the country to have been created in the name of Islam and we feel proud on it. He asked them to work hard with honesty and dedication for the progress of the university and the country. Prof Nasim called for abiding by the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and vision of Allam Iqbal. He said we must remember the services of our elders who had sacrificed their lives for the achievement of separate homeland. He shared that in Pakistan we are lucky that Allah Almighty has given us four type of weather in a year which is blessing for us.

Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held in other campuses of UVAS including Ravi Campus Pattoki, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang, Khan Bahadur Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KBCMA-CVAS) Narowal and Para-Veterinary Institute Karor Lal-Eason Layyah.
